David: Action.
Lyric: I know I’m looking for the next question right now.
David: Okay, cool.
Lyric: Uh oh. We’re getting to the bottom now.
David: All right, we’re done.
Lyric: No, I’ve got a few more.
Oh, here’s a number here. Kaden has two questions.
David: Only one, Kaden.
Lyric: Okay. Are there any –
David: No, I’m joking.
Lyric: Good. Well, I’ll go, I’ll go with the the second one first. Are there any foods you just cannot eat.
David: I can eat anything. Doesn’t mean I will.
Lyric: That’s not true.
David: Yeah. I can eat anything I want.
Lyric: Uhhuh..
David: But I’m not gonna eat a hot Cheeto, or hot fry, or that pepper thing.
Lyric: Yeah.
David: I can eat it. I won’t. So what are they asking?
Lyric: I think they’re asking about your food sensory issues.
David: What can I not eat?
Lyric: Yeah. Like what?
David: I don’t know. I can eat anything. What can I not eat… sensory wise?
Lyric: I think you eat very specific things, only.
David: Well, it doesn’t mean I-
Lyric: You eat very limited things.
David: No, no, very true.
Lyric: Okay. You can force yourself to eat anything.
David: Yeah, I can eat anything!
Lyric: So I think you won’t be able to get it down. I think you’ll throw up.
David: I mean there’s things I haven’t tried.
Lyric: Like coconut???!
David: I won’t do that.
Lyric: Can eat anything, wait! A coconut, how a strawberry with the seeds all over the outside.
David: Yes, maybe sometimes. But I- I don’t know about that one.
Lyric: You can eat anything???
David: Coconut? Definitely NAHHH!!!
Lyric: What about spinach?
David: I can eat- I don’t like the taste.
Lyric: Uhhuh.
David: I don’t know. I’m just saying, I can eat it. If I was forced to eat spinach, I can do it, if I was forced.
Lyric: Mm-hmm.
David: Same thing with coconut, I think. I mean, it’s not gonna ruin me or you know.
Lyric: how hard would it be for you to eat that coconut?
David: If it meant saving your life, I’d do it easily.
Lyric: Awwww….
I don’t know that I could force something in my mouth, like once I bought a salad.
David: I don’t know about that.
Lyric: No. And it was like, it was my favorite salad, for like all these weeks, and I had been eating it forever, at lunch. It was the same salad, but like one day, it was just like the last day. I couldn’t eat anymore of that salad, but I had bought it, so I was like, I’m gonna eat it, and I kept putting it in my mouth. And every time I ate it, like it was like, “I’m gonna throw up”. The more I ate, the more I was like, “I’m gonna throw up”.
I gotta, the point was like, I would put it in, and the salad won’t go down anymore, or I couldn’t eat anymore of it, and then I couldn’t eat that salad for like months.
And I was like, I couldn’t, it was no longer an okay salad.
I couldn’t do it.
David: There’s things I don’t like, but I think I can.
Lyric: Mm-hmm.
David: You know, I don’t like the taste of coconut, or the smell or whatever, but if I had to, that was the only thing I- I think I would.
Lyric: We’re gonna have a fear factor challenge and we’re gonna eat our unsafe foods…
David: No, see, I don’t want to… That’s what I saying. Doesn’t mean I can’t-
Lyric: Spicy coconut chips?
David: But see, I won’t eat spicy.
Lyric: Spicy coconut for you.
David: Right? But-
Lyric: And then I have to eat something that’s like a bad sensory thing for me. It has to be something bland and gross. What am I going eat, that I don’t like???
David: I don’t know.
Lyric: Olives!!!! Oh, nope, nope, nope, nope.
David: See, I don’t have that. I don’t-
Lyric: They smell! I can think about it- or tomatoes.
David: I don’t. I can eat anything.
Lyric: Tomatos are disgusting…
David: you know, I just –
Lyric: The devils testicles.
David: There’s some things I don’t want to.
Lyric: Oh, no. Yeah. I can’t do it.
The tomato is not okay. You eat tomatoes, I can’t Uhuh.
David, are you making coconut for breakfast? Turn around.
Yeah.
David: No.
Lyric: You talked a big game in this video, but what are you saying now?
David: Nothing.
Lyric: Do you think you’d be able to swallow, those foods that you.
David: That’s, yeah, I know. I just realized, I mean, like I was talking about, I can chew it, chew it, chew it, right… but not really for long. I’d probably like two chews, or whatever, but I wouldn’t swallow it. I have to spit it out. I couldn’t do it.
Lyric: So, uh, what did you say “Oh yeah. Swallowing is part of eating.”
David: Part of eating, I guess, and I couldn’t do it.
Lyric: Yeah.
David: I had to think about it.
Lyric: Okay. I gotta, see if I can stitch this in there somehow.
Mm-hmm. . Mm-hmm. Um, this one says, Patrick says, “did you watch lots of sitcoms or standups growing up in order to assimilate into socially awkward situations?”
David: No.
Lyric: Yeah, I was like, I did more like learning how to act from tv.
David: But that’s just it though, we learn how to act by, what we surround ourselves with.
Lyric: I don’t think I had, necessarily, the best examples, at certain points in my life, and so I used TV as my examples. Cause I spent a lot of time alone, cuz my guardians were working, or you know, I had to entertain myself, so.
David: Right.
Lyric: I was-
David: I wasn’t in that situation. I had family, and friends, I grew up with.
Lyric: Oh yeah. No, I didn’t really have very many friends.
David: Mm-hmm.
Lyric: I struggled with making friends, so… yeah. You had friends?
David: Mm-hmm.
Lyric: That could be a whole episode.
David: Can it?
Lyric: I don’t know. You had friends by having friends. That’s pretty cool.
David: Is it?
Lyric: I don’t know. Maybe.
David: Yeah, I wasn’t picked on- like you.
Lyric: Yeah, I got picked on a lot. I got picked on. But you had a big brother, that nobody was gonna pick on you, because you had a big brother, that was like… scary.
David: Are we done then?
Lyric: Yeah, we can be done.
David: Good.
Lyric: You can just stop it.
I don’t think we told them.
David: You don’t have to.
Lyric: It’s a secret. Now I have to kill you.
It happens. Shit happens.
Deezeemenahh?
Emily says, “I’d ask if you have half an hour to tell us about your hyper-focused or special interest.
David: We already did that, didn’t we?
Lyric: I know. They wanna hear you talk about it for half an hour.
David: No. Nah.
Lyric: You wanna talk about cops for 30 minutes? You could. You could totally rant about that for 30 minutes.
David: Nope.
Lyric: You could.
David: Nope.
Lyric: You’re not gonna, but you could.
Uh..
David: I got a question!
Lyric: Yeah.
David: Are we almost done?
Lyric: Do you need to be done?
David: No, we can keep going.
Lyric: Okay. Do you need to be done?
