My New Favorite Website: Instead of ABA
A new resource for parents and advocates, with links and resources to research and information about why and how one can opt out of ABA.
I have a new favorite website, InsteadOfABA.org: A new resource for parents and advocates, with links and resources to research and information about why and how one can opt out of ABA.
This website is amazing because:
It is presented in a compassionate and gentle manner, that does not shame parents for what they don’t know
Includes information on the history of ABA as well as the current criticisms of ABA and other forms of behaviorism
Data about the harms and ineffectiveness of ABA backed by research (with links to studies that can be used to support in advocacy against NeuroDivergent Conversion Therapies)
Neuro-Affirming alternative ways that we can support Autistic people without ABA as well as other resources for families and loved ones
Please help spread the word, as this resource is extremely important.
As an LGBTQIA ND parent of 3 young adults presenting similar but individually unique spectrums we completely love this approach and it came most naturally to me to care for my kids in this way, the youngest 2 went to Montessori school for 7 years, and struggle, yes we struggle but we know we are who we are and that is more than enough. THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you for this!!!!!
